1)
I wouldn't re-sign Zucc
he's 31, on the decline
2)
I'd trade Hayes because I think the return should be enormous and they cant pass up the opportunity to use him as a chip to continue to enhance this rebuild
If they did re-sign Hayes long term after January 1st and he stayed a Ranger for a long time, it wouldn't bother me though
3)
I'd trade Namesktiknov ASAP if it was a decent deal |

I think the resigning process is going to come within the first week or so of January. I read a interview last month of him talking about how he'll be ready to resign by January 1st. I think they had a pre set # that he was suppose to reach by January. Probably 30 points or so? He'll definitely pass that before this month is up. |

Jan Levine: Game 31: NYR-AZ, Hello Mats and Pavel, welcome back, 31 thoughts, etc.
Band getting healthier... - airjan23
“Right now, he’s staying here and we’re going to work on getting better daily, whether that’s 10-12 minutes in a game, or 18 minutes in a game, or he sits three in a row and practices hard and does extra stuff,” Rangers coach David Quinn said. “That’s something as an organization we’ll determine as we continue to move forward.” Quinn doesn't sound like a fan of Lias game
Beleskey is going to drop Stepan tonight lol. Hopefully he doesn't admire his passes to much or else.... |

1) Would you re-sign Zucc after the season? If yes, for how many years and at what max dollar amount?
As much as it pains me to say it, no. He's just not the same Zucc from years past. Whether it's the hanging cloud of a potential trade, the injury, or both, he's just not cutting it. Even his fire and intensity that made him a fan favorite seem to be missing this season.
2) Would you deal Hayes and/or re-sign him? Would you take the risk of dealing him but try and re-sign afterwards if your goal is to bring him back? Is an NMC/NTC a deal-breaker?
This is tougher. I don't think you can pass up trading him because he should bring back a decent haul. At the same time, he's developed into a solid player. Dependable centers are hard to find. If he goes, who fills in? Chytil, Howden, Anderson? They are the potential future and with Zib and Hayes at center, they won't get a chance.
3) Is Nam someone worth holding onto until next year before dealing him or are your concerned his value will decline between now and then?
Deal him. I don't hate him as much as other fans, but he doesn't add anything special and is easily replaced. |

Answers to questions:
1) Love Zuke, but he is over 30 and I think we have seen him for his entire athletic prime. Time to maximize any remaining value and trade him.
2) I like Hayes, however don't love him. I would be comfortable with him staying on a 5 year deal or if they trade him for a package like Captain Mac last year it would not upset me.
3) Namestnikov to me is a keeper. He is only signed through next season with a reasonable cap hit. I believe there is value in having him in the locker room if Russian kids come over.
Kudos to the Rangers and the Garden of Dreams for helping out the Levines. Any relation Jan?
May God bless all of the sick children like Emma Levine... LGR!!! |

Great vid Jan. Related or coincidence?
As for questions. I definitely trade Zuc. He might still come back but they need those assets now. Also, if he's healthy he may get traded sooner than later to a team in the mix but near the bubble because he can actually be a real asset in shootouts. Can be the difference between playoffs or going home.
I'd keep Hayes as long as he doesn't get a full nmc. Also provides leeway if rags make a hockey trade involving zib or trade a young center.
Nam is a guy that only really fits in a few places and you just sort of have to wait for the right opportunity, so .... who knows. |

One more takeaway from that video:
Whatever James Dolan and the Rangers pay Gravey ------- its not enough!! After all of these years he is still a WONDERFUL ambassador for the team. A true All-Time Ranger great off of the ice!! Number 9 in your program but number 1 in the hearts of so many! |

That is basically what sports is all about and the best part of them. An emotional connection between teams and their fans, particularly young one that grow up with the team.

Absolutely on Graves.
And Kreider is a great kid as well. I hope that Kreider remains with the team through the rebuild, and eventually becomes Captain. |
